Margaret Joan Geller is an astronomer who discovered the existence of a Great Wall of galaxies stretching at least 500 million light-years in space. Margaret is an astronomy professor at Harvard University and a senior scientist at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. Her mapping of the universe has produced the most extensive pictures.
Margaret Geller won a MacArthur fellowship (a “genius award”) in 1990 for her research, along with other awards and recognition for her work in astrophysics.
