Lilia Ann Abron is a chemical engineer and the CEO and founder of PEER Consultants. Lilia’s parents were a school principal and teacher, instilling the importance of education to their daughter. Lilia received her Bachelors of Science in chemistry from Lemoyne College before earning her Masters of Science from Washington University. Lilia later earned her Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Iowa in 1972, becoming the first African-American woman to do so.

Lilia founded PEER Consultants to provide solutions to environmental contamination. Lilia also founded Peer Africa, whose mission is to build energy-efficient homes in post-apartheid South Africa.
