Meet Dr. Maryam Mirzakhani (1977-2017), the first woman, as well as first Iranian, to win the Fields Medal, Math’s highest honor. In 2014, Maryam was recognized for her contributions to the dynamics and geometry of Riemann surfaces and their moduli spaces.
