Sustainability is the study of how natural systems function. One focus of sustainability is environmental protection, which emphasizes the need to recycle, reduce power consumption, reduce CO2 emissions, and reuse. Sustainability helps us to study and protect ecosystems, air quality, and the sustainability of natural resources. Sustainability’s goals are to end poverty and hunger, establish better standards for healthcare, achieve gender equality, tackle the effects of climate change, address pollution, and create a sustainable economy. Sustainability isn’t new (it’s been around as long as humans have been!) but it’s especially important now in our current environmental state.
