How did you get introduced to engineering?
I had no idea what engineering was until I was actually at a STEM summer program but it wasn’t until college that I actually learned how vast the engineering field is, and all the different areas that engineers work. My biggest struggle was people telling me that I should focus on something else, because women didn’t go into engineering.
Part of the reason there’s fewer women in engineering is because we either aren’t aware these fields exist, have a hard time accessing these subjects, or aren’t welcome once we start pursuing them.
